“Bullied” is not just a performance; it’s a journey through the narratives of those who have endured the pain of bullying and those who have inflicted it. The show aspires to be a space where both can reconcile with their past and find a path to liberation. This production is a synergy of three diverse artists who have been in residence at JJRArts:

• Chatiera Ray, the visionary artistic director of the Crayproject Dance Company based in Long Beach, California.
• A K Toney, renowned Griotpoet, whose words weave the fabric of the story with profound resonance.
• Brother Jason, a Capoeira Artist Instructor, who brings the dynamic and liberating art form of Capoeira de Angola to life on stage.

Together, they have crafted a narrative told through expressive dance, evocative poetry, and the powerful movements of Capoeira de Angola – a martial art that symbolizes strength and freedom, historically used by enslaved Africans to break free from the shackles of oppression.

JJRArts invites the community to support this artistic endeavor and witness a story of resilience and hope. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and accommodations for the hearing impaired, including sign language interpretation, will be available. Join us for an evening that promises not just entertainment, but an emotional odyssey that echoes the struggles and triumphs of the human spirit.
